Merlot
Of French origin, it has a dark, bluey colour and a very thick skin. Its the foreing tint grape most widely accepted in Spain due to its lesser dry tannins than the Cabernet Sauvignon, giving out a sweeter, fruity taste. Though of earlier ripening than the Cabernet, it has an adequate evolution in warm areas, with a high production.
